creature concept
One of my friends wrote a fantasy booked and asked me to draw some concepts based on his descriptions. this one is a pig-like creature. completely drawn in photoshop. I dont consider it final, so feel free to comment on it.
It was also a good excuse to do something else, than matte painting :)

Overall, I like the image...and wish I could paint that good..hence why i didn't leave any recommendations.
Strong Points:The texture is pretty good. I like the monotone, gritty colours - suits the type of character well. In general I think it's well painted and the character design is nice.
Weak Points:Nothing majorly stands out. The pose looks like it maybe could have done with a bit more work, looks almost like he's getting ready to fight but there is nothing around him to show that. i think maybe a little more work on the light and contrast maybe, but you said this was a w.i.p anyway.
