Looking above im laughing at myself, your work is far superior to anything I could do, having only picked up 3ds max a year ago but i hope to be able to create models of this kind of quality in the future. None the less I know what I like to see, and i hope my comments do not insult, but reflect how i feel you could really make this train leap off the page!
As you say its an old model so I know its hard to revisit stuff when there is always bigger/better stuff to do!
All round tho, its a fantastic image and i'm well impressed!

Strong Points:Modelling detail is incredible and the texturing spot on.
Weak Points:I like the darker/mysterious light setup, but i dont think it does your work justice, you have obviously put a lot of work into modelling but i think a lot of detail is missed because it is just too dark.
Recommendations:I think adding some tracks and just a bit more light would really set this off. Would be really nice to see it set into a landscape, perhaps a puff of smoke out the chimney too!
