Mini Coops
3ds MaxPhotoshop
This is my mini cooper. I built this using maya and tried based it on blueprints I found on the net. I have started working on the interior but wanted to see what everyone thought of it. I've put this on my demo reel already and not sure what I can do to improve it...

Awesome looking model but you haven't done it justice in the presentation. This may just be a test but try putting it into some environments to add some excitement to it. A good exercise would be getting some photos and matching the real world lighting before doing a simple slap comp. Keep up the great work!

Strong Points:Clean modelling, excellent 3d representation of the real thing!
exclamation
Weak Points:Shading, lighting, presentation
recommend
Recommendations:Get a few photo's (exterior street shots) and try matching the lighting before comping your renders over the backgrounds. With a little time you'll get it looking photoreal!

This is obviously a mini cooper and you have really nailed the modeling aspect of this image. The image is a little small to really be able to check it out any further, but great work either way.

People underestimate how difficult hard surfaced modeling can be like this, so congratulations for creating a clean looking asset.

Strong Points:Model acccuracy. Nice subtle details.
exclamation
Weak Points:Shaders and Texturing are lacking any realism. The lighting and environment really don't help to maximise the potential of the image either.
recommend
Recommendations:Consider using a more advanced rendering setup and even HDR rigs. Add some texture detail to the plastic and metal materials. Dumping this model on a photographics background will really help take this to the next level. Good luck.
