I can't seem to get through to the I.C.E. - is there any way to make use of it already??

I.C.E is currently only available to members subscribed to our range of services. In addition to this, students who are at schools which are part of our Faculty Collaboration Scheme also get to take advantage of this collaborative area too.

In the near future we are planning to offer free sessions inside I.C.E to see what all the fuss is about, and to play with all the cool features. Access will be limited, but keep an eye out for these offers.

OoOoooo...a new toy to play with!!

That would be really helpful, since right now I don't really know what to expect from it...
Is it an application I need to install, is it a webpage, is it going to work fine for me - well, I don't know!

All I can tell you is to expect something damn cool!

I.C.E really is an amazing web-based application. There is no software installation required at all. I.C.E is a full flash based system that loads in a new window. The whole environment has customisable layouts and even allows for fullscreen action and gallery comparisons. It's also been built for the iPhone too!

Basically I.C.E allows us to collaborate with all artists, or anyone that you invite into your ‘WorkSpace’. You can import any image, video, website screenshot, document, web stock art and everyone involved can make notes, draw, point lines, and chat all in the same window.

Just wanted to say that the cgCoach guys demo'd this to Bournemouth a few months back, it looked fantastic! An excellent feedback tool, its going to be a valuable resource.

This ICE tech sounds really great. I would love to be able to use this with just other member of cgCoach. Open to invites and all that. Would make for a great community tool so we can colab between other artists.

Any plans on releasing it to the community? I would even think a monthly or yearly fee would be worth it.

This is definitely the plan for us at cgCoach.com. We are currently working out the details to try and get this happening as soon as possible. Currently we have been restricting access to I.C.E purely based on the hosting cost and tool development fees so far. Our goal is to move a major chunk of forum threads to this area in the long term and in order to accommodate this we have chosen a separate dedicated hosting service associated with the tool.

We have a few desktop tools currently being developed at the moment and we will be commencing some new rounds of Faculty Collaboration with I.C.E in the coming months. During this time we will be in a better position to start getting members of the community involved with I.C.E, testing its capabilities and formulating a plan for general use, not just paid services associated with cgCoach.

I will make sure to keep everyone updated on our developments and plans!

I should have been more specific when I mentioned the iPhone integration with I.C.E.

You are absolutely correct that Flash doesn't work well with the iPhone and this is why we only run a few key functions of I.C.E through it. Also, since the environment involves a lot of drawing over images/video the size restrictions of the iPhone make commenting too difficult.

The main features that you can use via your iPhone are:

- See who is currently online.
- Review all comments made to your Workspace.
- See a list of all "Events" since your last visit eg: who visited, who commented, recent chats...
- Upload new images/video/document files to your Workspace
- You can also setup comments to automatically notify you via email.

Here is a small screen shot of the iPhone interface, which is the same as the Desktop Companion that can be downloaded.
