THIS INFORMATION IS ONLY FOR THE "CREATURES AND CRITTERS CHALLENGE". IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE "COMPUTER GRAPHICS STUDENT AWARDS".
Since we kicked this competition off there has been a little bit of confusion about which category people should register in for the competition.
We initially created the categories in order to give students a chance at entering a design, however a number of cases have been put forward with non-students who are obviously not professional either.
With this in mind we have removed the Student Category and replaced it with AMATEUR.
PROFESSIONAL - Anyone who has been paid to create a 3D model. This includes any basic props, environments or character models. Pro includes anyone who has worked as a freelancer or at a production company/studio. At the end of the day, if you have been paid for any 3d modeling work, no matter how small, you are a pro.
AMATEUR - Anyone who would like to be a modeler or is training to become one. This category is also open to people who have been employed at a studio in a non-modeling role.
cheers
Andrew
