Hey everyone,
My name is Corey Johnson thought I would enter this competition after seeing everyones cool designs
I am going to be making a subterranean lizard. It lives in caves during the summer, fall, and winter season in the great deserts of the world. In spring, the lizard's main diet, the giant cave bat, migrates to its ancestral mating grounds for the yearly bat orgy. This forces the lizard to leave the caves and stalk other prey on the open desert. while it is not the fastest creature it is perfectly adapted to survival in open desert. Its not unheard of to see camels and other desert animals slowly chased to the point of starvation. making a easy meal for the lizard.
here are some things I want incorporate into it's design
The lizard's tongue glows in the dark, much like an angular fish, this attracts all kinds of moths and other cave insects around the lizards mouth. and in turn this attracts the giant cave bat.
It's bottom jaw is two separate bones that can open out, left and right, as well as up and down. this gives it a better chance of trapping a bat in its jaws.
