Dave- Lol I am fast cause I dont have a job haha, The other creature is still being worked on as of right now but its almost done, glad you like the sculpt man!
kingroaw- I take that as a thank you I found it much easier to go from a solid concept then play the guessing game while I am modeling
Oliro- Thanks so much!
energise- Happy you like the boss creature =), I am still working on the fin/ears as they were pulled out I can only do so much until i rebuild the topo but maybe they look a bit better in this update perhaps?

Well here is some more time exploring the design, I want to go with a really fleshy feel for the tentacles so they look like they got a lot of weight to them. Still very early in the exploring process but comments and crits are welcomed of course! Enjoy

yes now they look much better =)

Have you given the base some thought? maybe he could be rising up from the sea? like a stormy ocean or something =P

gpepper- Thanks pepper! I just upload them to my cg port and do it that way since its real quick instead of doing it through my own site.
energise- Glad they look better =) They do need to be a bit longer but I will take care of that when I rebuild the topo so I actually have geometry there. About the base I am thinking of it wrapped around some kind of ancient tower pulling itself up, still undecided about it
yeoman- Your welcome and thanks for the compliment!
moni- Hehe I am fast cause I this is my "job" until I actually get hired. I might have used the toothbrush just a tiny bit =)

Well here is where I am at as of right now, some things still need to be corrected to better suit the concept.. the fins must be longer, spikes on the belly, and the hard/scaly skin treatment to the tentacles but this is as far as I can push this mesh on my laptop so now I will retopo it and take it from there. Was going to do something different with the end of his tentacles but decided not thats why they are missing. Comments and Crits are welcomed and check back in a few for the new mesh =)

the concept is sweet man, goodluck with this entry. My only crit is that looking at the
concept and your model, your model seems to be out of proportions. the tentecles on your
model seem much bigger than those on the concept just size up the head of the creature.
anyhow thats just my 2c other than that its looking cool.

cheers,
Idan

energise- Thanks man! I am starting to draw up and play with some ideas this week on how to pose this *thing* lol. I use Zbrush not Mudbox so sorry I can't help =/
Idanl- Thanks Idaln! I agree with the scale issue, it was fixed when I built the new mesh =)
Cap- yea 2 for me =) Thanks! Your pup is coming out sweet as well!
Sinzalot- Thanks Sinz! Its easy to sculpt quick in Zbrush and get your ideas down without worrying too much on topology
moni- Thank you Moni =) Here is a close up of the new mesh after being resculpted this weekend!

Well everybody thanks so much for the comments! I finished rebuilding the mesh as well as setting up the UV's. Here is what I am up to now after resculpting the creature over again on the new mesh. The back of the head is just a rough in.. still not completely sure with what I will do for it but we will see. I know there might be some problems as it looks now for things to get printed but I am doing this for a portfolio piece to show in 2 weeks so I will go back and fix it after that to suit the contest better. Will post wires and some pose ideas tomorrow. Comments and Crits are always welcomed
