Amatuer - The Thugfish 1 Year, 2 Months ago
My name is Jon Cooper and this is the character concept for my Creatures and Critters Competition entry.

Many centuries have passed since the fabled city of Atlantis
slipped under the sea. Isolated and alone from outside influence
the citys scientists have spent there time involved in
increasingly more bizarre experiments, including genetically
engineering aquatic animals to be pets, mounts and playthings
of the eccentric underwater aristocracy.

Here we see one such example...the Thugfish, designed to be a bodyguard and protector, all to often the simple Thugfish devours its owner by mistake.

Love the story, great idea.
Excellent concept drawing - really get the character from the eyes - hope this translates to the 3D model - brill!

Ha!... great idea.. it would look really humorous as a 3D print this one

any plans on what the plinth is going to be yet... will it just be the rope/leash that will hold it to the post??

looking forward to the progress of this one too.

Great stuff!

This is a sweeeet looking concept!

I really like the idea of having this guy floating and attached to the lamp pole by his chain. If you go for this approach, it will probably require a thicker rope/chain to support the weight of the Thugfish.

Once this critter is all finished, it would be cool to hollow out the main pole to accommodate a wire so you can place a small LED inside and even a battery in the base of the plinth!

I'm keen to see this one take shape. Good luck!

cheers

Thanks for your comments everyone.

Was thinking you could slip a little LED light in the lampost to cast light on the model if it were made...that would be pretty cool

Hopefully have some updates soon
