Yes!!! First in the wip's section back of the net !!!

As its the first week and all, I thought I had to post something to get the ball rolling.



This is a wip video of a sculpt I'm doing far from finished.
I'll post more as I go.

So do you listen to that type of music when you're sculpting??

So explain the production of this model a bit for us.

Basic things like what package did you use for your base mesh and what are you using here for the high poly sculpturing? It says both Zbrush and mudbox on the youtube link. Do you have muscle reference while you sculpt? Or do you play it by eye? A few breakdowns would be excellent.

Peter Satera - I used maya to make a base mesh and posed in maya, with a rigg my friend dan zelc made for me(Cheers dan). I laid out the uvs in different shell so its easy to select all the different parts. As for sculpting I used Zbrush to sculpt him but it does not matter they do the same thing.

I have no reference for the pose but I have about 8 anatomy books piled up on my desk. I use them constantly. At work we have a freedom-of-teach.com anatomy Maquette its really helpful. Normally guys start in a bind pose then pose the character.
I'm not doing that because I want to do these like a real sculpture.
Hopefully I'll learn something.

Thanks! It's great to hear the workflow and approach to something like this. I have rarely had a chance to use Zbrush or Mudbox, although I have had a muck about in them, thats as far as it goes. It's amazing at the astounding quality and detail that can be achieved through them.

I was just wondering which tool do you use on the video when you sculpt the forearm ?
Cause I am still looking for the best tool to do that...
When I use clay tubes or standard tool I still have problems to do clean some sculpt. It is always too pushed or not enough...
Any advice ? Your tool parameters for example...
